I usually really like building my work around a certain vision I have. I did this by digitally rethinking the way that this product was intended to be used. I had to find a way to do both things, so really re-imagining the products I got from The North Face and also incorporating my own way. I mainly want people to rethink the products that they already own. I want to challenge them into rethinking the way that they are.
Cornel chose not to physically produce any products, as this would incur some waste. Instead, she digitised everything and created a cycling poncho and a more elaborate version of the iconic The North Face Base Camp Duffel. “In this way, I wasn’t recycling the garments, but recycling the idea of them and fantasising about the next form of life for them digitally.”
